As Solihull's MP, one of the pressing issues brought to my attention by residents is the urgent need for appropriate and equitable school funding throughout our Borough. Quality education is more than just an academic pursuit—it's an invaluable investment. This investment not only guarantees that Solihull & Shirley retains its competitive edge but also ensures our children are well-prepared and poised to navigate the challenges of an ever-evolving world.
I am proud to give my unequivocal backing to the F40 group. Their mission isn't just about indiscriminate spending. It revolves around the efficient and just distribution of resources. To clarify, this isn't about blindly pouring funds into a system; it's about informed, judicious allocations, ensuring that regions like Solihull aren't left short changed.
Our dedication to SEND children has twofold significance. Morally, it's the right thing to do. Practically, it represents astute planning. Offering robust early support potentially sidesteps more intensive (and expensive) interventions down the line. The children of Solihull, especially those with unique needs, aren't mere statistics. They are the lifeblood of our future community, deserving of every opportunity we can provide.
To forge a path towards a prosperous future, we must critically assess and refine current educational funding strategies. Solihull's schools should be bastions of inclusivity, capable of supporting every student without being overly dependent on EHCPs.
In collaboration with the F40, my mission is to champion Solihull's best interests, ensuring that our future generation and the local economy benefit from targeted and efficient education funding. Rest assured, as your representative, I will be persistent in voicing these concerns with the Ministers at the Department for Education
