Julian Knight MP is proudly supporting World Book Day’s new ‘Share a Story’ campaign, which aims to encourage parents and carers to read to their children for ten minutes every day.
The campaign aims to revive reading as a national pastime, as well as something which families do together.
Every year World Book Day create special £1 books for children and young adults, and every school pupil in Solihull will be issued a £1 voucher to spend in any bookshop or supermarket either on those titles or towards any other full-priced book.
Speaking after the event, Julian Knight said:
“I’m delighted to once again be supporting World Book Day in 2019, and I hope that parents, grandparents, and carers across Solihull will take advantage of this opportunity to spark a lifelong interest in reading in their children and charges.
“Habits formed in childhood last a lifetime, and there are few that do more to enrich us intellectually and emotionally as reading. Enthusiastic young readers will find that it not only improves their performance at school, but that it opens the door to a whole world of stories and learning.”
