Just before the summer recess, Julian Knight MP was delighted to welcome pupils and staff from St Alphege Primary School to Parliament during their visit to London.
The pupils managed to get a tour of the House of Commons, seeing some of the country's most historical political sites including the House of Commons chamber, Central Lobby and Westminster Hall. The pupils then visit the Parliamentary Education Centre where they participated in a debate and enjoyed an interactive session on what Parliament does and what Members of Parliament do for their constituents.
Julian said "I think all the pupils found the experience incredibly interesting and I am in no doubt they left having a greater understanding of what Parliament does and how it is there to represent them. I want to pay tribute to St Alphege Primary School for allowing their pupils to take up this opportunity as I think it's vital that young people understand politics and Government from an early age".
