Julian Knight, Conservative parliamentary candidate for Solihull, took his campaign to save walk in services at Solihull hospital to Shirley Carnival on Saturday.
Julian set up a special stand with local Councillors for Shirley and volunteers to help collect signatures for his petition and brief revellers on how his fight to save walk in services is going.
"The people of Shirley love their walk in service and they want it to stay, plain and simple. It was great that people took a few minutes out from all the fun of Shirley carnival to talk to me about how we save this fantastic service."
Families were given balloons, lollipops and free gifts by Julian's team of volunteers all to promote the fight for Solihull's walk in centre.
"It seems that d-day over the walk in centre has been put back a bit but this reflects the strength of feeling of the people of Solihull over this issue. I feel we are winning the argument on this and that is thanks to the support from the people of Shirley and Solihull that I have been receiving for my campaign."
Julian has been running his campaign for several months and collected hundreds of signatures and has the full support of walk in centre founder and chief Dr Sunil Kotecha.
As for the carnival Julian said: "A fantastic day was had by all and what was most gratifying was seeing so many good causes enjoying the support of the people of Shirley."
