Julian Knight has welcomed the Post Office’s decision to upgrade its Hobs Moat branch as a vote of confidence in the area.
In addition to a wider range of services, including car tax and more on-demand foreign currencies, this decision will lead to longer opening hours, making the branch more accessible to local residents.
As part of the largest modernisation programme in the Post Office’s history, up to 8,000 branches across the country are going to be updated and 3,000 more community branches will receive additional investment.
Commenting on the expansion, Julian Knight said:
“Before I was elected I pledged to campaign to regenerate the Hobs Moat area. I’ve met with the Post Office and I’m delighted that they have recognised the importance of this branch in their modernisation strategy.
“From post to pensions to passports, Post Offices provide a range of essential services and it’s particularly good that this new ‘main branch’ status means longer opening hours. This is a vote of confidence in Hobs Moat, and I’m sure there will be more to come.”
