Julian Knight, Member of Parliament for Solihull, was delighted to attend a reception in Parliament on Wednesday 28th February to celebrate National Apprenticeships Week.

The Week, organised by the National Apprenticeship Service and now in its 11th year, aims to bring encourage more young people to consider apprenticeships as a fast track into business and a strong career.

This year’s theme was ‘Apprenticeships Work’, and the goal was to illustrate how individual workers and employers, as well as the wider community and the national economy, can all benefit from a strong apprenticeship scheme.

Commenting on event, Julian Knight said:

“Apprenticeships are a growing and hugely important part of the British education system. Not only do they offer an invaluable opportunity to gain first-hand experience of an industry or trade, but apprentices get to earn whilst they learn and qualify debt-free!

“I hope that, through events such as National Apprenticeships Week, more young people will learn that there really is more than one way to set yourself up to build a business or career that you can be proud of.”
