Julian Knight MP is very proud that his new, hand-knitted Armistice poppy has received a warm reception at Westminster.
He ordered them after a visit to ‘Knit and Natter’, the knitting circle organised by local residents at Olton Library. Their handmade poppies are on sale for £2, with all profits going to the Royal British Legion.
Other MPs have complimented Julian on the flower since he returned to Parliament, and some have asked where they can get one of their own.
Julian Knight said:
“Across the country, Armistice Day is a time when communities come together to remember the extraordinary sacrifices that our Armed Forces have made on our behalf.
“Millions of us choose to wear the poppy as a mark of remembrance and respect, and I’m proud to see local residents putting a touch of Solihull into our national tradition.
“Several of my colleagues have complimented me on my new, hand-knitted poppy – and I’ve told them that if they want one, I know where I can get my hands on some more!”
