Solihull & Shirley’s local voice in Parliament, Julian Knight MP, has been re-selected by Solihull Conservatives to fight the next General Election for the Conservative Party. The local Association endorsed Julian’s track record of delivery for the Constituency by re-selecting him with an overwhelming majority of support.
Julian, who has resided in the Borough for nearly a decade, has successfully delivered for Solihull and Shirley in the House of Commons since his election in 2015, defeating the Liberal Democrat's hold on the constituency.
Since his election, Julian has secured millions in investment for local NHS services, specifically, Heartlands Hospital. He has dealt with over 38,000 individual pieces of casework since 2015, helping residents with benefits problems, dealing with the Council, and assisting constituents with securing GP appointments to name just a few examples.
Likewise, Julian has used his position as Chair of the Digital, Culture, Media and Sport Select Committee, to represent the views of constituents on issues such as the BBC Licence Fee, sports funding in the Midlands and ensuring Solihull gets its fair share through the Governments Levelling Up agenda.
Julian said “In 2015 it was the honour of my life to have been elected by the people of Solihull and Shirley to represent them in the House of Commons. I have a clear and consistent track record of delivery and action here in the Constituency, and that it why at the last election over 32,000 constituents put their trust in me. I want to thank the members of the Solihull Conservative Association, under the leadership of Kate Wild, who have put their faith in me again to win Solihull for the Conservatives again. I will continue to keep working hard to ensure Government delivers the priorities for our community”.
